Warren Rapozo has been painting most of his life. Born on a sugar plantation on Kauai 50 years ago, he was the only artist in his family. After high school and the army, he returned to the Islands and settle on Oahu. Still, he continued to paint during these years. He met Edna, his wife, on Oahu and in the early 70's they moved to Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. For about 10 years he and Edna operated a business in Kona, Hawaii. He always wanted to be a police officer, and that dream came true at 44 years of age. Later, he dedicated himself to painting full time. Warren Rapozo produces canvases filled with a million little details. The dedicated passion and time invested in each piece is delightfully evident. His Hawaiian paintings project a deep respect for the beauty and dignity of the Hawaiian people in a time when the Hawaiian Islands were their own. ...A fresh and exciting Hawaiian artist that shares a unique and original vision of Island life in a much simpler time. |
